The Mansion House, London

Scagliola has always been a popular material for the manafacture of plinths and pedestals to support sculpture and statuary.

Examples can be seen in galleries and museums throughout the world.

Six scagliola pedestals commissioned for the Mansion House, London, during the building’s refurbishment at the end of the last century. Each pedestal supports the marble bust of a former Lord Mayor or civic dignitary.
